Opinion: "Rape" past and present

Dublin Core

Title

Opinion: "Rape" past and present

Description

An opinion article written by Martin Yaqzan, an assistant math professor at the University of New Brunswick, arguing that date rape is the fault of those raped, rather than the aggressor. Yaqzan wrote the article (originally published inĀ  in response to an article in the September 1993 issue of The Student Advocate, published by the Canadian Federation of Students) on recognizing date rape and the necessity of consent during sexual encounters. In response to Yaqzan's article, the University of New Brunswick suspended Yaqzan and barred him from campus.
